The hotel is an exclusive boutique compound which is located on the out skirts of Marrakech. This place is owned by Majid Ej Jeannane, who is the grandson of the former pasha of the royal city of Meknes; who also worked in marketing for ‘Coco Chanel’ and ‘Hermes’. The hotel had opened in May in the year two thousand and eight. The hotel has received major celebrities like Jake Gyllenhaal. The hotel tries to live up to its name; and in fact, makes everything here quite rosy.
When you just enter, you will be offered rose flavored tea. Once you enter the gardens you will be shown around the large lush grounds filled with rose bushes. There are nine rooms here which all bear the names of different type of roses. For example, White crystal, royal Gold and such.
If you are trying to get to this place, you definitely need to have a GPS system in place. The Rose Sultan keeps away the paparazzi, the lawyers and even the creditors because it is quite difficult to find. When you drive a complete twenty minutes from the main Marrakech city, the hotel lies hidden behind huge walls which are located at the edge of the vast and unpaved dirt jungle which is about a kilometer off the main highway.
The view you get here of the stellar mountains is just extra ordinary. The upside of this hotel; apart from the obvious luxury and pampering environment, is the peace and tranquility that surrounds this place. The only down side is that you have to travel a teensy bit to get to the city. If you are expecting not to hire your own transport, and to travel by taxi’s then don’t bother. There aren’t any taxis over here.
The rooms here are roughly walled and have a low wooden black table. There are also two stylish leather chairs. There is a large flat screen TV and a telephone with large comfortable beds and large leather frames. The rooms come fitted with a front terrace with overlooks the beautiful green landscaping that the hotel has made quite picturesque.
The bathroom here is even blacker than the bedroom. The walls, floor and ceiling, except for the white sink, the white bathtub. There are rose petals that are spread all over the marble countertop. The back patio is lined with high walls for privacy. There are orange trees planted here so that the colors stand out quite dramatically.
